Medroid on your clinic workstation — across every EHR you touch.
Ambient documentation and evidence search, even where a browser can't reach.
The Medroid Desktop App runs alongside any application on your Mac or Windows machine — installed EHRs, Citrix sessions, telehealth windows — capturing the visit and surfacing evidence so you draft less after hours. You review and approve every note.
Structured draft from the visit
Illustrative interface. The companion docks beside any app; press the global hotkey to start.
Not every EHR lives in a tab.
Citrix sessions, installed desktop clients, and standalone telehealth apps lock out browser tools — so you're back to typing notes after clinic. The desktop app meets you where the work actually happens: it runs alongside whatever app is in front of you, on your own machine.
A workflow companion that runs across your tools.
The desktop app is the delivery surface that runs AskMedroid, Copilot, and Scribe over any foreground application — no per-EHR integration. It's the same evidence-led AI as the Chrome extension, just reaching further across your Mac or Windows workstation.
Works alongside any EHR
Web-based or installed, Citrix-hosted or local — the companion floats beside the system you already use. Your records stay where they are.
A microphone for ambient scribe
The app captures the visit through your workstation microphone when you start it, so Scribe can draft a structured note from in-person consultations — no browser tab required.
Stays running across apps
Switch between the EHR, the inbox, imaging, and a telehealth window — the companion holds context and stays available across whatever is in front of you.
Medroid is a clinical-information and workflow tool intended to support — not replace — the independent professional judgment of a licensed clinician. It is not a substitute for clinical judgment and does not provide medical advice or a diagnosis.
Built for the desktop, end to end.
Everything the extension does, plus the reach and controls a native app makes possible.
Works over any app
Captures and assists across installed EHRs, Citrix sessions, and telehealth windows — not just browser tabs.
Global hotkey
Summon the companion anywhere on your machine with ⌘⇧M on Mac or Ctrl⇧M on Windows.
Ambient Scribe
Drafts a structured note from the visit. You review, edit, and sign — nothing reaches the record without you.
Evidence on tap
Ask a clinical question and AskMedroid answers with visible citations in a focused window, so you can open the source.
Quiet by default
Push-to-listen, with a clear on-air indicator. Nothing is captured until you start it.
Auto-update & offline-tolerant
Stays current on its own, queues drafts locally, and syncs when you are back online.

Docks beside any app
A non-browser EHR window is focused; the Medroid companion docks to the side, ready and out of the way.
Press to listen
Press the hotkey to start. An on-air dot and a breathing waveform show capture is running.
A structured draft appears
When the visit ends, a SOAP-style note is drafted in the companion with edit controls.

Open a cited answer with AskMedroid, make the note yours, then review and approve before anything is used.
Use a web EHR instead?
If your EHR opens in a browser tab, the Chrome extension is the quickest way to bring Medroid in. The desktop app is for installed and Citrix-hosted EHRs, telehealth apps, and system-wide capture. Many clinicians use both.

Built with and for clinicians
Clinics and clinical teams already running Medroid alongside the systems they use every day.
Secure by design, on your machine
The desktop app ships as signed and notarized builds for macOS and Windows. It captures only when you start it, shows a persistent on-air indicator, encrypts data in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256), and stores your data in region-specific databases. Your data isn't used to train models.
Desktop app questions clinicians ask
Yes. The Medroid desktop app is ready and available now for both Mac (macOS 12 and later) and Windows (Windows 10 and 11). Download it, sign in with your clinician account, and start the same day.
Yes. The desktop app runs alongside any foreground application on your workstation — installed desktop EHRs, Citrix sessions, and standalone telehealth windows — not just browser tabs. That reach is the main difference from the Chrome extension.
If your EHR runs in a browser tab, the Chrome extension is the quickest path. If you use an installed or Citrix-hosted EHR, standalone telehealth apps, or want a companion that works across any app on your machine, choose the desktop app. Many clinicians use both.
No. Scribe is push-to-listen. Nothing is captured until you start it, and a persistent on-air indicator shows whenever the app is listening. You stay in control of when capture begins and ends.
Medroid applies HIPAA-aligned safeguards and signs Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with covered entities. We are SOC 2 Type I audited, encrypt data in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256), and store data in region-specific databases. Your data is not used to train models.
Builds are signed and notarized for macOS and Windows, and the app keeps itself up to date. If your connection drops, drafts queue locally and sync once you are back online.
