Medroid Cowork / Patient follow-up

Follow-up should lead somewhere.

An outreach attempt is only one step. Build a process for approved communication, patient replies, and the next action your team needs to take.

01 / The work in focus

Start with an approved purpose.

Identify why the patient is being contacted, what can be communicated, and what response requires a clinician. Work from a defined list and an approved message rather than an open-ended instruction to contact everyone.

02 / The work in focus

Match the message to the channel.

Review the patient's communication preferences, the information appropriate to the channel, and any required consent. Confirm which communication methods are actually supported for your deployment.

03 / The work in focus

Give replies somewhere to go.

A scheduling question, a request to stop messages, and a new clinical concern need different handling. Define routing and escalation with your practice before automation begins.

04 / The work in focus

Close the task honestly.

Track the outcome your process actually needs. If a message could not be delivered or a patient has not replied, keep the exception visible. Do not treat silence as understanding or agreement.

Example scope

An approved follow-up list contains patients needing an administrative scheduling check. Cowork helps prepare the communication and coordinate the next action. Questions about symptoms or the care plan return to the designated clinical team.

Useful questions

Talk through your questions

Is this an emergency messaging service? No. Maintain your practice's urgent and emergency communication procedures.

Can messages go out without review? The approval policy depends on the task and agreed workflow. Confirm which communications require individual review and which approved administrative templates may be used.

Can it promise a patient response? No. Measure attempts, successful contact, and subsequent actions separately.
